Read, Write, Count

Perfect for the young learners! This toy develops tracking skills - allows the child to focus on a moving squirel, the child will begin to watch it sliding down while keeping their head still or with only slight movement, this prepares the eyes for reading and develops important ocular skills. Everything from language development, to hand-eye coordination, to reading skills depends on eye strength. Tracking also strengthens eye muscles - as the child is able to focus and track the ball for longer periods of time they will strengthen their eye muscles.

Active play

Grasp the squirrel, squat, move up and down and reach out repeatedly promotes coordination, grip, and gross motor skills development. The squirrel will descend through all 3 rails as frequantly as a child desires, encouraging back and forth action. Toddlers will rush to pick it up and return it to the track again and again. The toy as well develops core stability - for young children the squatting and moving up and down picking up the squirrel and standing independently can help develop core stability. This also encourages the player to cooperate and take turns and by that also develops communication skills.

EXPERT OPINION

In the case of the ball track toy, from our personal experience, this resource is most enjoyable and valuable for toddlers, especially on there second year. Manufacturers tend to err on the side of caution when listing ‘recommended ages’ because of their legal liabilities so a lot of those tracker are for older kids. We were so happy when Hape decide to create this wonderful tracker for younger toddlers to enjoy.
